The Quality Engineer will be responsible for providing on time support to our internal or external customers on Quality Improvement opportunities that we have in our processes and our products, will monitor our manufacturing processes, Quality Data Systems, first pass yield, scrap, escape defects and continuous improvement opportunities in order to implement the best practices in our operation daily.
Essential Responsibilities: Establish internal processes to provide a high quality product, monitor the results of those processes with internal and external customers, determines root cause of any non-conformance, and implements corrective actions.
Support production and customers on quality and testing opportunities.
Troubleshoot / problem solve activities as needed
Maintain and follow up calibration program.
Maintain process documentation active and enforced in assigned area to ensure consistent quality.
Support Six Sigma programs by driving and coaching Six Sigma projects
Work with Suppliers and Quality Supplier team to drive improvements on raw materials, components and new vendor’s qualification.
Assist in process changes and new product development.
Report and improve first pass yield and scrap
Coordinate / implement error proof processes to Improve control levels to L1 / L2.
Coordinate the creation of Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA’s)
Coordinate Transfer of Work (TOW’s) & Quality documentation & procedures
Document & take ownership of Corrective Actions (CAR’s), Root Cause Analysis (RCA’s) & 8D responses.
Maintain Quality Management System (QMS), PQMT, PMPro & other Quality data collection systems.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
At least 3 years of professional work experience in Quality function within a Manufacturing site
Elaboration of flow charts FMA's, PPAP and Quality Control Plans
Able to fluently speak and write in English
Six Sigma training
Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and provide efficient solutions.
Ability to evaluate the impact of actions on the business and our customers.
Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to bring assignments to a successful completion.
Ability to work a flexible schedule coincidental with manufacturing functions and global suppliers.
Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma tools and evidence of their application to solve complex problems in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and quality assurance requirements.
Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
