Role Summary: Operates as a lead engineer for wind turbine aero elastic simulations and lead different New Product Introductions (NPIs), Services & Cost-out programs. Provide technical guidance on system simulation tools / procedures, Design Practices & regulations (IEC, GL & DIBt guidelines).
Implement control technologies to mitigate mechanical loads & improve turbine power performance.
Drive simplification in the loads certification efforts and resolve complex technical challenges to obtain certifications.
Collaborate with wind farm engineering team and provide solutions to enhance application space.
Drive global team development through communication, partnering and mentoring to drive local expertise and transfer of knowledge.
Provide support and technical expertise for mechanical loads issues seen in simulation or in the fleet for Systems organization and across component design teams
Work closely across the business and global team members to ensure high quality and consistency on system simulation techniques & practices.
Bachelor degree from an accredited university in Mechanical engineering, civil engineering or aerospace engineering
In depth knowledge on aero, hydro, fatigue, system dynamics & mechanics
Knowledge of Wind turbine aero elastic system simulations (Flex5, Bladed etc.)
Proven ability to work in a cross-functional and global environment
Effective problem identification and solution skills
Proven project management skills and a positive energy
Experience in wind turbine control technologies, operability & validation
Expert knowledge on wind turbine component design criteria
Experience in software development for system simulation tools including specifications, theory manuals and flow chart
