Role Summary: • Provide pro-active Compliance support & leadership for GE Digital in India. As the compliance leader, responsibilities include communications and training support, continuous risk assessment and abatement, managing investigations and compliance metrics by coordinating with the functional and business team leaders. • Identify emerging Compliance trends, including related regulatory & policy issues that may impact the Compliance readiness of the site & make appropriate recommendations.
Essential Responsibilities: • Operating Mechanisms & Processes - Support the Business Leadership in maintaining appropriate processes and operating mechanisms to ensure that the covered businesses/P&Ls meet all GE policy compliance & regulatory excellence responsibilities. Run Compliance Review Boards (“CRB”) and provide inputs into the broader compliance program for the global business/region. • Leadership engagement - Drive a pro-active Compliance leadership and engagement program to ensure that business leaders are responsible and accountable for policy, regulatory excellence and other compliance initiatives. Enhance measurements and dashboards to provide the Leadership team with appropriate indicators of compliance health. Support business leadership in driving the open reporting program and conducting risk roll up discussions with employees. • Risk assessment - Coordinate with Global and regional Compliance leadership and implement business risk assessment initiative and drive mitigation plans arising therefrom. Review and address remote site risks by creating awareness through employee engagement efforts, monitoring concerns and assessing operations at these sites. • Compliance trends and regulatory compliance - Monitor internal and external compliance trends in India, including compliance initiatives, industry compliance failures and applicable, industry specific regulatory requirements. • Support to Ombuds - Coordinate with region/global business Ombudsperson and local ombuds to support concern reporting system, leading or assisting with investigations, as required, and ensuring matters are closed quickly and appropriate actions taken • Training & Communication - Provide training support to the business on GE’s Spirit & Letter, other regional and business policies, regulatory excellence and other compliance initiatives and issues, including, for example, coordinating with the global team compliance team to manage the business’ third parties, including due diligence, on-boarding, training and auditing. • Testing & Monitoring - Coordinate with relevant functional owners to conduct regular audits of Compliance areas and support business in driving requisite improvements/resolutions for issues identified. Provide independent testing and review as may be required. • Process assessment - Coordinate with relevant business owners to identify and resolve Compliance-related procedural issues and areas of improvement and ensure remediation actions plans are established, implemented and tracked through to closure. • Business /Region compliance priorities – Execute on compliance priorities by establishing strong operating mechanisms with Digital Global and Regional compliance officers to execute on a comprehensive compliance program at the organization level •
Qualifications/Requirements: • A minimum of 4 years risk mitigation, compliance, full-time Ombuds, audit, or other relevant experience. Compliance, legal, quality or finance audit background and experience in relevant business lines is highly desirable. • Understanding of GE compliance program and culture desirable • Knowledge of, or experience with domain risks related to IT security, systems, data privacy, cloud security and big data applications or prior experience in IT organizations highly desirable. • Experience in leading and handling critical investigations including implementation of corrective actions by the management. • Previous experience in: (a) identifying and resolving compliance issues, including regulatory issues, quickly and effectively and ability to make informed management calls with proven ability to drive operational excellence; and (b) developing and implementing compliance policies, processes and procedures • Technical Knowledge- Strong grasp of code of conduct, business ethics policies and current compliance practices and industry standards in a relevant services space. Strong business acumen, ability to detect emerging compliance and industry trends and develop appropriate responses • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface with cross -functional teams, management and front-line associates • Self-motivated with high energy and personal integrity. Ability to operate with due discretion, confidentiality, objectivity and independence. • Demonstrable verbal and written fluency in English. Superior communication skills, including the ability to effectively and efficiently communicate in writing and orally, the capability to think clearly and quickly under pressure, the composure to satisfy multiple and often competing interests and ability to share lessons learned with teammates. • A strong commitment to integrity and professionalism, and passion for excellence. • A work history that affirmatively demonstrates leadership and ability to work in a matrix reporting environment. • Strong analytical, process management and implementation skills, sensitivity to issues, strong facilitation and problem solving skills • Strong computer literacy with specific ability to use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, internet and internet based applications.
