Role Summary: The Heat Exchanger Design & Integration department is globally responsible for the Thermal design engineering required for Tendering support and order execution of heat exchangers being integral part of GE`s offered combined cycle power plant applications (i.e. Condenser, District heater, Feedwater tank with deaerator, Atmospheric drain vessel, CCW cooler).
Essential Responsibilities: As thermal design Engineer, you will be in charge of performing the thermal design of HEX products and coordinate the technical design with other disciplines during OTR (Execution) and ITO ( Tendering )phases. You will be responsible for the technical content of calculations for thermal equipment sizing, as well as checking documentation and notes sent to clients. You will interface with the mechanical engineering team and manufacturing quality team for design optimization taking into account client specifications, internal guidelines and work instruction. In addition to the thermal design responsibility, you will act as technical project manager for HEX products. You will lead a team of design engineers throughout order execution and take charge of technology, quality, costs and on-time delivery. In this coordination role, the thermal design engineer will monitor the engineering process within the overall project schedule, ensure the on-time-delivery of engineering documentation and follows the engineering budget. He / She will report project progress to management, ensure the compliance of GE documentations toward the contract and manage internal and external interfaces within Engineering, Manufacturing, Erection and Commissioning phases.
Qualifications/Requirements: · Engineering degree or technical degree with 10-14 years of experience in Power plants • Minimum 8 years of experience in Heat Exchanger Engineering activities • Experience in power plant engineering •Knowledge of heat exchangers, as well in fluid mechanics and thermodynamics, in drawing reading and checking • Basic knowledge of pressure vessels codes & mechanical Engineering
