Role Summary: To expand the hardware-in-loop test capabilities and support automated testing of state-of-the-art reciprocating engine control software for heavy-duty gas engines used in power generation applications.
Essential Responsibilities: • Work in a global team of electrical, controls and software engineers on developing and testing state of the art control systems for reciprocating engines • Lead activities related to setup of hardware-in-loop test rigs • Contribute to and lead projects focused on automated testing and validation of engine control software (MiL, SiL, HiL) • Prepare and execute project reviews
Qualifications/Requirements: • Advanced technical education in electrical/mechanical engineering or computer sciences (technical university – Bachelors or Masters) with a focus on controls engineering • Skilled in SW testing for embedded control systems (Matlab/Simulink, C/C++, AutoCoding) • Experience with hardware-in-loop (HiL) test setup, hardware integration and HiL test automation, preferably on ETAS platform • Sound knowledge of efficient software verification and validation processes (Unit testing, model-in-loop testing, hardware-in-loop testing) • Experience with calibration tools (INCA) used in engine control system development • Understanding of micro-controllers, communication protocols like CAN and use of relevant tools such as CANalyzer • Basic background on Internal Combustion Engines • Responsible and team oriented style of work • Excellent English language skills (spoken and written). • Willingness to work within global distributed teams on common goals and travel as required • Self Starter, very good analytical skills
Desired Characteristics: • Experience with modeling and engine control software development using Matlab & Simulink • Knowledge of requirement management techniques and tools
