Role Summary: The Senior Environmental Expert has deep knowledge of Environmental laws and regulations, including those associated with energy use and sustainability, applicable to GE's fixed facilities and service operations. Provides technical support and leadership necessary to drive compliance, meet customer requirements, and achieve regional excellence by working to meet the needs of the GE Businesses and OneEHS. This leader also works with regulators and operational management as needed.
Manages and coordinates a broad spectrum of initiatives simultaneously
Serves as the region’s Environmental lead expert on air emissions management for applicable EU regulatory requirements and industry standards
Supports and guides site and distributed workforce EHS managers on Environmental issues, across all media, including permitting, energy use and sustainability
Works with Business EHS to understand and advise on ISO certification strategy and supports operational execution
Understands and serves the needs of GE fixed and distributed locations
Understands and serves the needs of GE businesses and OneEHS functions
Drives compliance and the reduction of risk
Drives operational and cultural change, simplification and cost-out, across Regional and Global OneEHS, and interacts cross-functionally.
Maintains a relationship with regional environmental regulatory bodies
Coordinates regional best practice sharing
Be flexible and be willing to pivot priorities based on the needs of the Region and the function.
Bachelor's Degree or extended studies in an Environmental discipline, from an accredited college or university or equivalent knowledge & experience
Demonstrable competence (qualifications/training/experience) in European and international regulations concerning Environmental risk management.
Must speak English fluently
Proven years overseeing the execution of EHS programs
Expertise in Air emissions characterization and management
