Role Summary:
The NA Consumer Lighting Product Management organization has an exciting opportunity for someone with commercial and / or technical experience in the industry as a Senior Product Manager. The job requires an individual with demonstrated aptitude for leadership and product line ownership in a highly dynamic cross-functional environment. This position will be critical to help drive and achieve the sales growth and margin expectations of the product line.

Essential Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities Include :


  • Manage product lifecycle from concept to retirement
  • Develop go-to-market strategy for the product line including channel strategy and product differentiation
  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) and Total Cost Out (TCO) plans and processes to ensure product line leadership and profitability
  • Understand and conduct analysis of competitive capabilities and determine GE response
  • Identify consumer and retailer customer needs; use insights to segment the market, develop product strategy and customer value proposition
  • Assemble and lead cross-functional teams (Technology, Supply Chain, Marketing etc.) to execute product strategy while fostering constructive conflict and debates that aid in continuous improvements
  • Consider and leverage partnerships and technical innovation to generate market place differentiation
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop and maintain key sales support material:
    • product specifications
    • product catalogs
    • brochures
    • competitive cross-references
    • technical application guides, etc.

  • Take an active role in supporting the sales team in customer meetings, bids and presentations
  • Own and drive key financial metrics including revenue and profitability
  • Make financial tradeoffs and manage risk

    Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, industrial distribution or related discipline from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 7 years of Product Management or Technology leadership experience (Including experience with developing product strategy)

    Desired Characteristics:

  • MBA / Business background from an accredited university or college
  • Consumer product experience a plus
  • Project Management experience a plus
  • Entrepreneurial spirit for fast innovation
  • Strong abilities to work with cross-functional teams, help create consensus, and drive execution
  • Proven ability to pull together diverse individuals with different goals and facilitate productive discussion and action
  • Excellent planning, problem solving, and analytical skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong multi-tasking abilities
