Role Summary: The Excitation Service Specialist, is an important role within GE Automation & Control. As part of the wider service team, you will have the opportunity to travel to multiple sites within APAC region to support Excitation and Generator Protection system including new project site and installation base customer site.
Essential Responsibilities: In this capacity you will be responsible for (but not limited to) • Commissioning of new Excitation projects and Generator protection system. • Perform Preventive & Corrective Maintenance on installation base equipment. • Trouble shooting and root case analysis. • Perform customer training. • Hotline, support customer by phone and email. • Site survey and technical clarification meeting with client, understand site status for retrofit project. • Participation to Factory Acceptance Test prior shipment of equipment to site. • Supervise contractors for Erection activities. • Enhance GE EHS culture and 100% compliance of EHS requirements of customer as well as GE.
Qualifications/Requirements: To be successful in this role, you would possess and/or demonstrate the following: • An Engineering Degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in power generation business. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. • Strong background in electrical systems. • Power Stability Systems knowledge. • Knowledge on control systems theory specifically applied to Excitation systems. • Knowledge of Synchronous Machines. • Knowledge on control system configuration/architectures. • Process knowledge in Thermal Power Plant. • Understanding of Grid codes constraints. • Positive working attitude and team work. • Team player, quick learner, highly motivated individual. • Computer: Proficient in using computer as a tool for job.
Desired Characteristics: • Ability to work independently. • Generator protection background is better. • Customer service mindset. • Ability to write complex technical reports.
