Role Summary: Process Engineering associated with the manufacturing process. Positions requiring understanding of a concepts, methods and procedures (technical Bachelor’s Degree).
Essential Responsibilities: In this role you will :
Define and control production process including tooling and equipment
Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
Expected to resolve problems through the application of acquired expertise guided by precedent and Lead Process engineers
Works together with people from the business unit
Communicates with direct team and supervisor
Presents to internal teams on metrics, project status and research
In addition, you will :
Support shop floor to deliver business results while encouraging input from area personnel
Participate in the development of mid and long term plans outlining projects to support the business in meeting its objectives with a strong focus on cost and part quality
Promote internal and external customer satisfaction and develop positive relationships
Exhibit ownership and take responsibility in attaining all aspects of production operation including safety, scheduling, quality, and team development in assigned areas
Plan and implement process-engineering activities for new product development and current product support
Provide manufacturing method development and improvement for current and new products
Determine safe manufacturing processes that produce a quality product in the most efficient method of manufacture
Direct the activities of hourly team within the cell(s) and participate in cell / team activities to meet identified goals
Investigate and apply new technology in support of site growth plans
Pursue continuous improvement for quality and cost reductions in designated area
Act as change agent, understanding and moving the operation toward benchmarked, best of class performance
Bachelor’s Degree in materials science and engineering, ceramic engineering, or chemical engineering
Minimum of 3 years of experience in conducting technical activities with material, process, and equipment development
Ability and willingness to work off shift (2nd shift), as required ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment
