Role Summary: The FSE for Monitoring & Diagnostics equipment is a key function within the Services Organization, responsible for providing installation and commissioning services of equipment used to monitor the health of power transformers installed across the CEAP region. The role is predominantly based in Hong Kong, working across CLP High Voltage substation sites, with scope to travel within China, Eastern Asia and Pacific and further abroad as necessary to support the region with M&D activities.
Essential Responsibilities: • Install and commission sophisticated monitoring equipment for high value substation assets, whilst provide ongoing maintenance to existing equipment at customer sites predominantly in Hong Kong, whilst at times extending into the Asia Pacific region as required. • Be an EHS Leader at all times. Safety is the most important attribute to working in High Voltage Substations, the successful candidate must conduct field work in compliance with all applicable local and customer EHS regulations and GE’s EHS regulations whilst being a safety advocate onsite. • Liaise effectively with customers and channel partners to support job planning, execution, follow-up and post-sales support whilst working closely with the GE Field Services team, Sales and engineering teams globally • Provide technical direction to skilled labor on customer sites to ensure the executed work reflects the high standards of quality and excellence required by GE. • Provide on-site investigations and troubleshooting to repair technical faults of GE DGA products, to ensure any failed units are restored in a timely manner. • Audit and implement quality control requirements for on-site repair and upgrades in compliance with GE’s quality strict standards • Act as a primary technical resource for on-site work, provide service quotes as per the regional set pricing standards and lead resolving engineering and product issues. • Provide professional reports for customers and internal teams in a timely manner. • Engage with the customer during field visits promoting different service offerings, product range and provide full pre/post-sales support to the sales team whenever required. • Communicate schedule details, project milestones, time & service history sheets, manpower & tools/equipment requirements to the M&D services lead for Asia Pacific.
The successful candidate will need to actively work in a commercial environment and provide technical support to the sales teams to help grow the M&D business.
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with two years of experience in Field services, transformer / high voltage electrical equipment maintenance or equivalent. • Excellent written/verbal skills for communicating in both English and Cantonese. • Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on team building and customer relationships. • Ability to confidently address groups whilst providing training on DGA products in a professional manner • Must be highly self-motivated and be confident in stressful situations, as well as work efficiently and effectively without direct supervision • Must be willing to travel [80%] of their time regionally and internationally, work additional hours as required, including weekends in rare cases • Disciplined and focused towards Environmental Health and Safety, with strict compliance to all customer, local and GE regulations. • Must have a valid Passport or the ability to obtain one as well as an acceptable non-restricted driving license.
