Role Summary:
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Power Distribution Lead Reliability Engineer. This position is required to meet increased demand for Reliability, Maintainability, and Testability (RM&T) engineering activities on existing projects. In this role you will utilise your experience and expertise to perform component and system level reliability analyses and act as a Subject Matter Expert.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Capturing, understanding and documenting the customer’s RM&T requirements.
  • Contributing to the integration of RM&T considerations into Electrical Power system architectures in co-operation with customers and other engineering functions.
  • Defining and executing reliability programmes and completing all relevant RM&T analyses, including reliability predictions, Failure Modes and Effects Analyses and maintainability assessments.
  • Completing testability analyses and making recommendations on built in test coverage.
  • Interfacing with the customer to develop the RM&T analyses to support incorporation into aircraft level fault tree analysis.
  • Leading assigned personnel and providing mentoring, as required.
  • Co-ordinating engineering activities with customers and stakeholders.
  • Assuring the proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
  • Participating on teams assigned to address specific improvement or organisational initiatives.


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • An accredited degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Physics or similar subject, or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
  • At least 5 years’ experience of systems design lifecycles within the aerospace industry or a similar embedded systems development environment, with demonstrated ability to lead packages of work and recognised level of technical expertise.
  • Experience of embedded systems and hardware electronic engineering.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience in a Reliability, Maintainability and Testability (RM&T) role.
  • Extensive knowledge of RM&T standards, such as MIL-HDBK-217F and MIL-STD1472 and MSG-3.
  • Knowledge of SAE ARP4754A, ARP4761 or similar rigorous development standard.
  • Knowledge of electrical schematics and safety analyses.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and ability to contribute in a team environment.
  • Good problem solving and solution building skills.
