Role Summary: The Lead Arrangement and Piping Engineer is responsible for arrangement of buildings, shelters, pipe racks, foundations, piles, steel structures etc. including above and below ground pipes. Equipment placement, Piping layout using PDMS/E3D and issue arrangement and civil guide drawings as per projects requirements. Responsible for piping layout and design studies, creation of manufacturing drawings for pipe work and BOQ preparation for procurement.
Essential Responsibilities: Tasks & Responsibilities: Create and update 3D model as per contract requirements, design rules, work instructions, installation guidelines and best practices comprising of equipment, civil, piping & valves, access and maintenance as well as hazardous area definition. Ensure especially environmental aspects and health and safety of site personal, operators, maintenance personnel and third parties Define major above and below ground networks and coordinate with electrical arrangement engineering, including preparation of geographical network diagram. Provide input for cranes and hoists equipment engineering Define waste point locations and develop and own the overall Underground Network. Provide required inputs to mechanical and civil engineering Prepare/review of general arrangement, civil guide drawings, hazardous area drawings, laydown area drawings, fire protection and escape way layout and the access and maintenance concept of the plant. Follow-up and checking interface data with client, partners, equipment suppliers, etc Ensure a coordinated approach in all areas with the other engineering disciplines and support the lead engineer Participate in HAZOP-studies, design reviews and design freeze meetings and ensure that corrective actions are closed on time Prepare overall piping layout concept and supporting concept including steam pipes Ensure that the design is per applicable rules, regulations codes and standards and per good engineering practices especially about environmental aspects and health and safety of site personal, operators, maintenance personnel and third parties Model of piping and supports in the 3D-Model using the correct assigned pipe specifications Perform piping stress analysis of piping system Prepare feedback documentation to process and equipment engineering Prepare/review piping isometrics and support drawings Prepare/review BOM for support steel, lugs and plates, trunions, anchor bolts, bolts and nuts Monitoring and follow up of Arrangement & piping design progress Ensure a coordinated approach in all areas with the other engineering disciplines and support the lead engineer Support in claim negotiations and preparation of relevant documentation and facts Provide site technical assistance for construction and commissioning
Qualifications/Requirements: To be successful in this role you would possess and/or demonstrate the following
A Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a local or internationally recognised university
At least 8-10 years of experience in power plant in the capacity of arrangement & piping design
Good knowledge of AVEVA PDMS/E3D and other piping engineering tool
Knowledge of electrical arrangement and power plant process couple with site experience would be advantageous.
The ability to apply design methods, rules and tools to specify the systems/ components
Specific Knowledge of relevant international codes and standards
Knowledge of Interfaces as well as knowledge of Engineering, Design and Project Management tools and methods
