The Lead Hardware Electronic Engineer will provide technical expertise to support development of embedded Aviation products, project execution and design support. The primary design work will be in the areas of analog and power conversion circuitry used in aerospace products.
Lead design activities for electronic products and systems. Activities will include the development of product requirements and definitions, detailed circuit designs and component selection.
Support projects through design reviews and will be available to provide technical advice to other departments, customers and suppliers. You will also help prepare the technical content of new product proposals to support bid activities.
You will integrate and verify products and systems, and supporting products through environmental and EMC qualification test. Additionally, you will be available to diagnose and fix design problems in existing products.
Activities will include, but not be limited to:
Design for safety, testability, and manufacturability.
Define Hardware architecture.
Select electronic components for rugged environments.
PCB area estimation, power dissipation, component stress.
Troubleshoot electrical circuits.
Perform Circuit Worst Case Analysis.
Perform Electrical simulation.
Support PCB design with EMC and manufacturability guidelines.
Support mechanical design, software, test engineering, and manufacturing.
Support qualification and acceptance testing.

4-6 years of experience designing analog hardware for airborne or related applications.
In depth understanding of analog and power theory.
Experience defining requirements, developing specifications and selecting electronic components for power applications, and ability to work with suppliers to ensure technical requirements are met.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact.
Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
Effective problem identification and solution skills.
Proven analytical and organizational ability.
Development to DO-254 and DO-160 standards.
Power electronics (FET’s, Diodes, Thyristors, IGBT’s) operation theory.
DC/DC and AC/DC converters design experience.
Understanding of thermal issues associated with electronic systems.
