Role Summary: The Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer is responsible for Planned and unplanned maintenance activities on EC&I system equipment at the Power Station according to the O&M contract. Responsible for proactively ensuring that EC&I related maintenance activities are GE compliant and meet GE contractual, technical and commercial obligations.
Essential Responsibilities: Provide the day to day leadership to the customer for all EC&I related maintenance activities in order to maintain an optimal availabilitiy rate of the power station equipements Ensure all EC&I related scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities are identified and carried out carried out in compliance with the O&M and contract requirements. Be available on-call to attend during an emergency and during after-office hours to advise / assist / provide technical assistance to the customer during an unscheduled de-rating or shutdown. During planned or unplanned maintenances, arrange and organise local subcontractors to perform tasks under GE supervisors direction. Work closely with field service and inspection personnel to ensure safe and effective coordination and cooperation between all parties during planned or unplanned inspections. Analyse incidents, create event reports and engineering requests as required. Review EC&I spare parts and tools pertaining to scheduled and unscheduled maintenances. Ensure appropriate tools and equipments are available on site for EC&I activities to be carried out as per good engineering pactices Inspect O&M and contractor tools to ensure that they are electrically safe for use. Review all EC&I related field service instructions to be implemented during outages. Actively develop improvement potentials and issue Recommendation Reports to the customer for improvements identified. Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with established procedures and good engineering practice. Assist the customer in identifying training and development requirements of EC&I personnel. Comply with customer as well as GE and legislative EHS requirements relevant to assigned duties and responsibilities. Promote safety awareness and safe working practices . Provide technical support to the customer as defined in the O&M contract. Review EC&I work orders entered in the CMMS. Assess and review external contractors and suppliers. Prepare technical specifications for external work supply. Raise Site Requests, and Purchase requests in SAP. Ensure proper record of changes is kept available.
Qualifications/Requirements: Recognized qualification to degree level in Electrical / Electronic / Control / Instrumentation Engineering. Substantial knowledge of engineering practices, functions and processes involved in the operation and maintenance of a Combined Cycle Power Station Competent with High Voltage electrical equipment Control and staff management.
