Role Summary: The Assembly Technician I- 2nd Shift will support, improve, and lead production of valve, regulators, and instruments through problem solving innovative idea generation and creative problem solving.
Essential Responsibilities: In the role of Assembly Technician I -2nd shift you will:
Pick / Pull an order via pick list or delivery route
Move / Transport material via pallet jack, forklift, or crane as needed
Transact material, process orders, and open work instructions via computer
Assemble via cutting, bending, routing & fitting pressure tubing to attach meters and gauging devices
Be proficient with pneumatic hand tools, electro-mech assembly, & test equipment
Check work via use of gauges, visuals and measuring tools
Perform test, and paint per work instructions
Pack, and Ship via radial saw, wrapping and banding as needed
Maintain an organized / visual workspace (5S understanding )
Support key initiatives such as(on time delivery, schedule attainment, cost of quality (SQDC)
Generate and implement improvement ideas and encourage idea generation among team members and stop work for safety, stop production for quality, and escalate concerns
Be familiar with and use of proactive root cause problem solving (Pareto, Fishbone etc.)
Ensure all products assembled meet the quality standards in accordance with procedures, engineering specifications, drawings and work instructions
High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution
Minimum 1 year of experience interpreting basic design drawings and work instructions
Minimum 1 year of manufacturing, mechanic, maintenance, plumbing or warehouse experience
Work in a climate control facility
Work 2nd shift
Work in a sedentary manner with constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
Work in a hands-on environment and able to lift 35 pounds
Adapt to constantly evolving work requirements in a team environment
Generate ideas, root cause problem solve, and implement solutions using Lean Manufacturing Methodology
Be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required
Be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time
Experience operating a forklift, pallet jack & crane
