Role Summary:

This position is responsible for conducting Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) activities, under the direction of the site EHS Leaders and Plant Manager. The primary focus is to conduct EHS inspections, analyze and maintain EHS recordkeeping systems, conduct EHS employee site training, and participate in EHS program activities to ensure employee safety and regulatory compliance in addition to driving injury reduction initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assist certain assigned aspects (technical, regulatory/third party interface, reporting, permitting, compliance, financial, administrative, etc.).

  • GE Healthcare projects and permits in compliance with relevant regulatory programs and GE corporate policies.

  • Evaluate facility EHS conditions, assess risks and develop appropriate corrective-action plans.

  • Provide EHS guidance and compliance support to site EHS managers to ensure compliance with regulatory and program requirements.

  • Participate in EHS compliance and program audits of manufacturing sites and service operations.

  • The primary focus is to conduct EHS inspections.

  • Coordination of safety and hygiene committee, monthly inspections.

  • Participation in first aid team.

  • Participation in fire brigade team.

  • Analyze and maintain EHS recordkeeping systems.

  • Capture findings in the general electric tracking system.

  • Conduct EHS employee site training.

  • Participate in EHS program activities to ensure employee safety and regulatory compliance.

  • Driving injury reduction initiatives.

  • Keep management apprised of progress and significant developments on key projects.

  • Track site progress and needs. Provide and update on projects for environmental compliance purposes.

  • Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Occupational & Environmental Safety & Health OR Bachelor of Arts in Biology, Hydrogeology or Geology, Physician, Engineering OR related technical discipline.

  • 3 years of experience in EHS Activities supporting a site/service

  • Desired Characteristics:

  • Familiarity with federal and state EHS regulations (STPS, OSHA, SEMARNAT).

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

  • Able to simultaneously manage multiple projects and other responsibilities, adjust to changing priorities and to make decisions with speed and accuracy based on available information.

  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Fluent in English language.
