Essential Responsibilities: General Electric Company seeks Senior Global Commodity Leader in Erie, Pennsylvania to lead global commodity procurement of locomotive products with annual volume of $150MM to achieve variable cost productivity, cash flow, and controllership goals. Responsible for initiative management, including project expense and investment, deflation management and material management. Lead global supplier selection, qualification, development, and overall supplier management. Balance strategy development with cost reduction projects through contract negotiation, process changes, and implementation of sustainable cost controls. Monitor, forecast, and develop strategies for pertinent steel commodities to minimize raw material costs and ensure material availability.
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Engineering (any field) and 5 years of progressively responsible post-Bachelor's degree related experience. Position requires 5 years of experience with global sourcing and project management, and 3 years of experience with locomotive products. Position also requires ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time for sourcing activities to India, China, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Europe, Mexico, Canada and throughout the U.S.
