Role Summary:
Operates as a Lead Engineer for wind turbine aero elastic simulations and lead different New Product Introductions (NPIs), Services & Cost-out programs. Provide technical guidance on system simulation tools / procedures, Design Practices & regulations (IEC, GL & DIBt guidelines.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Implement control technologies to mitigate mechanical loads & improve turbine power performance
  • Drive simplification in the loads certification efforts and resolve complex technical challenges to obtain certifications
  • Collaborate with wind farm engineering team and provide solutions to enhance application space
  • Drive global team development through communication, partnering and mentoring to drive local expertise and transfer of knowledge
  • Provide support and technical expertise for mechanical loads issues seen in simulation or in the fleet for Systems organization and across component design teams
  • Work closely across the business and global team members to ensure high quality and consistency on system simulation techniques & practices


    • Master degree in Mechanical engineering, civil engineering or aerospace engineering
    • In depth knowledge on aero, hydro, fatigue, system dynamics & mechanics
    • Knowledge of Wind turbine aero elastic system simulations (Flex5, Bladed etc.)
    • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional and global environment
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Effective problem identification and solution skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills, proven leadership skills and a positive energy
    • EU Work Permit

    Non-national candidates are responsible to know the minimum documentation requirements to be able to be contracted in country: NIE- Social Security Affiliation Number in Spain (NAF) and Bank Account in Spain. They must be in possession of them at the time of start hiring. GE will not sponsor this requirement.

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Experience in wind turbine control technologies, operability & validation
    • Expert knowledge on wind turbine component design criteria
    • Experience in software development for system simulation tools including specifications, theory manuals and flow chart
