Role Summary: Provide technical leadership in design activities related to bearings and seals.
Essential Responsibilities: In this role you will:
contribute to execution of NPI programs, including the definition of technology roadmap for bearings and seals, in support and in agreement with product needs and Company business development strategies;
concur to the concept definition of the modifications required to improve gas turbine engine components and assemblies in order to fulfill either Customer or Company requirements;
build technical knowledge expertise in aeronautical gearbox components, specially bearings and seals;
contribute to the issue of the technical documents (i.e. drawings, specifications, schemes) relevant to the components design;
support investigations on bearings and seals issues/failures and their resolution;
support source substantiation (Validazioni Tecnologiche) activities for bearings and seals;
support the management of Quality Notifications (QN) for bearings and seals
proactively support and coordinate activities with manufacturing departments and Suppliers to implement product improvements (e.g. concurrent design, cost-out activities, non-conformances evaluation).
Master Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university
Experience in mechanical design and coordination of design activities
Good English and Italian language knowledge, both written and oral
EU Work Permit
Experience in aeronautical mechanical gas turbine component or module design
Experience in bearings and seals design, life cycle costs, failure modes, etc.
Experience in cost and value engineering
Knowledge of aeronautical Certification rules, ie EASA Part 21, CS-E, FAR’s
