Role Summary:
The Cable Design Engineer is part of the hardware CoE CCE team, He/she is responsible for the cable technology and leadership of the Global Library of standard cable components used in GEHC products. He/she will lead the develop the cables required for product designs, create & update cable road maps, maintain standard cable and components library and support ongoing requirements of cable components throughout their life cycle (change management, obsolescence etc.)

Essential Responsibilities:
• Develop the standard cable component according to the product design needs, collect the function requirements, regulatory requirement, combine with the technology trend to provide the cable design solution. in collaboration with global library team.
• Research cable and connector technical specifications and evaluate technical attributes of components to identify & recommend alternate sources for obsolete or high cost raw cable and connectors.
• Develop & maintain GEHC component technology roadmaps, based on industry trends and GEHC requirements. Communicate roadmaps to engineering community.
• Support product design teams in cable selection, development, evaluation and failure analysis.
• Work with external stakeholders including suppliers to drive new improvements into the Global Library and design practices.

• Bachelors in Electrical /Electronic engineering
• 3 years of relevant industrial experience in design and development
• Knowledge & experience in designing & qualifying cables and related components
• Knowledge of cable and connector suppliers/vendors & market for latest trends and technology
• Knowledge of cable and connector failure modes & reliability
• Knowledge of radio frequency and related cable transmission is a plus.
• Experience in the complicated system cabling design.
• Experience with creating a drawing, knowledge of the related design CAD tool and drawing/BOM management system.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
• Self-starter, results oriented, and able to multi-task
• Aware of electronics components life cycle management
• Complete understanding/working knowledge of engineering design documentation and standard document control practices

Desired Characteristics:
• Experience with GEHC tools— PLM systems (MyWorkshop and/or Agile), SQCS, ESMART
• Knowledge of RoHS environmental compliance requirements and compliance, IPC1752 documents, and other material declarations
• Knowledge of cable supply chain and cost model.
• Experience with global & cross-functional teamwork
