Role Summary:
The Segment Sales Manager is responsible for the profitable growth of Industrial Solutions’ inspection services business.



Essential Responsibilities:
As the Segment Sales Manager, you will:

  • Provide domain expertise throughout the sales process, including customer site visits, opportunity generation and work scope and costing development
  • Participate in job walks to define customer inspection services requirements
  • Work closely with the West region operations’ team to insure the correctness, the quality and the timeliness of the work
  • Present and lead transaction order closing strategies on your own to drive results and meet Operating Plan Orders Objectives
  • Accurately maintain and forecast pipeline of opportunities within Salesforce.com (SFDC) including Orders and Sales for a given sales territory on a continuous basis
  • Develop detailed market plans that analyze competitors, market and price trends and target new customers and grow existing customer market share in Inspection Services across its service lines
  • Develop and use customer presentations to convey the portfolio of Inspection Services capabilities geared to specific customer requirements
  • Provide competitive market feedback to the business on any proposals, win or lose via use of SFDC
  • Assist in all major proposal generation
  • Understand and lead Terms and Conditions discussions and negotiations with customers
  • Control operating and entertainment expenses within approved budgets (T&L)
  • Provide customer insights to key service offering gaps for NPI development


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Marketing or Business from an accredited university or college (OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 8 years of Marketing, Sales, Customer Service or hands-on experience associated with non-destructive testing (NDT) and inspection services)
  • Minimum of 5 years of Inspection Services technical / field sales with existing customer relationships

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening



Desired Characteristics:
  • In-depth knowledge of NDT methods and practices across a wide range of industrial segments
  • Extensive oil & gas industry experience, particularly in pipeline integrity sector  
  • Master’s Degree in Business (MBA)
  • Existing strong NDT Inspection Services customer relationships  
  • Quality Black / Green Belt Certified (GE employees only) or equivalent quality certification
  • High proficiency in utilizing electronic sales tools.
  • Strong relationship development skills are necessary, including the ability to identify customer requirements and mobilize the Commercial and Operational teams around those CTQ’s NDE Level I. II, or Certification
  • Strong Interpersonal and team building skills with a change oriented mentality as well as being energetic and boundary-less with an unyielding commitment to integrity
  • Technical Sales Program Graduate (TSLP, CLP or ECLP GE Internal Only)
