Role Summary: As a Field Service Technician, you will participate in the daily installation and servicing of Pressure Control equipment. In this role, you will perform installations, maintenance and repairs of GE Pressure Control wellhead equipment and other assignments as directed by the Service Manager and Branch Manager. You will work effectively with other work groups: EHS, Sales, Maintenance, other Personnel and Management.
Essential Responsibilities: You will follow all GE policies, as well as applicable federal, state and local regulations.
In the role of Field Service Technician, you will:
Under the direction of the Service Manager and Branch Manager, perform many tasks associated with the operation, rig-up / down of equipment & tools and related equipment in the shop, yard or location
Install, repair, remove and maintain various GE Pressure Control equipment
Drive and operate company pickup and trailer to deliver services and tools
Drive and operate mobile crane truck and forklift
Complete all paperwork daily as required by company and supervisor, including accurate and timely submittal of job reports, logs, service tickets, and time sheets
Perform duties which may involve some technical elements but primarily focused on running equipment / machinery / systems
Be trained in operating and servicing more than one type of equipment or combinations of equipment / processes
Conduct field quality audits and evaluations to ensure GE policies and procedures are being adhered to in their entirety
Be familiar with all services provided by GE Pressure Control to accompany and train current employees as well as newly hired employees
Have the ability to safely deploy to remote geographic assignment locations – onshore and offshore locations with limited access to medical care, which may require 4 hours (or more) travel time to reach secondary level medical care
High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution
Minimum 1 year of service technician experience or mechanical occupation
Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
To the extent that you are applying for a position that requires you to operate a GE owned / leased or rented vehicle for company business, you must be willing to submit to a check of your driving record
Be available to work on-call, overtime, weekends and holidays, as required- shift is on call, 24/7
Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time
Undergo Periodic fitness for duty tests, examinations, and/or certifications will be required for onshore/offshore remote location assignments
Prior wellhead experience preferred
