Role Summary:
 
The successful candidate will provide technology development and technical support to the Baker Hughes, a GE company Downstream Chemicals Division in the area of Drag Reducers. This detail oriented individual will be viewed internally and externally as a subject matter expert in drag reducing additives, from laboratory and field perspective, while maintaining and promoting a positive, collaborative, and safe work environment.
  
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Deliver drag reduction solutions, technology support and technical recommendations for new chemical applications
  • Provides support to manufacturing across drag reducers technology product line
  • Work together with other technologists and SMEs in the development and commercialization of new additives, applications, and support on customer specific requirements
  • Develops and evaluates plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities to be carried out by the department and within field environment
  • Works closely with sales and supply chain to help support customers’ and market needs
  • Provide technical leadership in Drag Reduction technologies and awareness to industry forums or regulations
  • Lead the technical development in development projects, project management and new products field applications
  • Collaborate across technology and technical support teams within Baker Hughes, a GE company Downstream Chemicals on global level  
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry 
  • 6 years related experience
  • 3 years of drag reducers technology experience
  • 3 years of experience in Oil and Gas Industry
  • Ability to function independently as well as in a team environment
  • Effective communication skills - able to accurately and concisely convey complex technical concepts to all individuals of all levels of experience both in a written and oral format
Desired Characteristics:
  • Advanced degree in Polymer Science
  • Working knowledge of industry related technologies
  • Project Management experience
  • Goal oriented individual who requires minimal day to day supervision
