Role Summary:
Located at Industrial Solutions’ Burlington Service Center, this role is responsible for supporting the motor and generator project and work planning, scheduling, and interface with customers, shop management and operations personnel. In this position you will:

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Support motor and generator project & work planning, resource planning and scheduling, and daily communications.
  • Provide technical and inquiry-to-order support, including proposal generation, for motor and generator product service and repairs.
  • Provide Technical support for hourly workforce in the inspection, service, repair and upgrade of motor and generator equipment.
  • Develop and implement motor and generator repair plans and verify accurate completion of job files and customer information.
  • Work productively in a team environment supporting the lead motor and generator specialist.
  • Interface directly with customers, all levels of site personnel including hourly workforce, lead specialist, Service Center Manager, and support functions.
  • Work with the operations team to coordinate customer repair work to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Liaise with other departments to resolve issues and barriers to superior customer service striving to meet/exceed customers' expectations.
  • Assist in driving improvement initiatives (e.g. Six Sigma, Cost Control, ISO, EHS, etc.) with the Shop.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Engineering degree in a related field
  • Minimum 2 years direct experience in the testing, repair, maintenance and upgrade of motor and generator equipment.
  • Computer experience including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, and fluency in email and web applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communications
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a diverse cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong Customer Advocate.


Desired Characteristics:
  • Strong background in interpretation of Engineering drawings/specifications, electrical, and process planning/evaluation.
  • Experience in the technical direction of craft labor.
  • Green Belt or Black Belt Certified (GE employees only).
