Role Summary: The Field Site Manager – Hydro will direct all site operations from start to finish. You will focus on performance and profitability within the framework of the operating plan. In this role, you will develop strategy for the site execution plan, time schedule, scope of supply / work, scope of civil works, major subcontracts, budget and account structure, status of documentation, EHS plan, site staffing plan, applicable local regulations, restrictions etc.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Field Site Manager – Hydro, you will:
Mobilize the site and set up of site infrastructure
Plan and set up vehicles, accommodation and other support for site staff
Establish site regulations and rules of site operation
Select and hire local personnel as required
Execute daily (if required), weekly and monthly comprehensive reports
Set up the site filing and document control system
Strategically execute the site Cost Control
Strategically execute the GE EHS Policy and the site EHS plan
Strategically manage the site schedule, progress of works and cost
Set up and strategically execute the site QA / QC plan
Take necessary actions to maintain high site morale
Manage subcontracts / subcontractors
Conduct daily and weekly meetings with staff and subcontractors
Achieve all major milestones within the site schedule
Represent GE to the customer and local authorities
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 8 years of experience in a field services role)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a field services managerial role
Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment and within all levels of the organization
Executive presentation skills
Previous / current Hydro plant experience
Previous managerial experience with field operations or as a Wind Site Manager
Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent quality certification
Experience with field service technology and processes
Knowledge of network infrastructure, communication protocols and WEB technology
Proven record of P&L (profit and loss) responsibilities and direct report experience of a minimum of 5 employees
Strong analytical capabilities and ability to thrive in cross functional and team environments
Extensive knowledge of power plant systems
High degree of cost awareness
