Role Summary: This role is responsible for developing and executing competitive intelligence programs including customer advisory boards, VOC best practice deployment, and other primary techniques to identify and develop differentiated opportunities for the company with both internal and external partners / resources.
Responsibilities include close engagement with P&L’s to develop & deploy deep insights in the Aviation Software and Analytics market space. This role will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within the Aviation Software & Analytics eco-system, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall Go-to-Market strategy. Use the information gathered to support corporate and marketing strategy, product / solution marketing and management, customer experience, and sales enablement.
Other responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Provide actionable, fact-based intelligence and insight that align with objectives, goals and business decisions
Develop surveys, interviews, focus group guides and usability studies that can be conducted with either external partners or internal constituents
Select vendors and manage projects outsourced to third-party suppliers of primary and secondary research
Conduct market sizing / opportunity studies to identify new growth markets and segments
Establish “early warning” system for key audiences that identifies new market forces, new regulations and competitive landscape changes
Develop mechanisms to deliver information, including comparison grids, competitive profiles / snapshots and dashboards
Develop and maintain weekly or biweekly “MI bulletin” with specific KPIs and metrics for executives
Develop value proposition(s) for various Aviation Partners such as System integrator, Independent software vendors, re-sellers, data providers, etc.
Coordinate and collaborate with product management, marketing, and commercial teams to develop go-to-market plans that identify opportunities and growth strategies across geographies, vertical industries, channels, use cases, and market segments
Adopt and institutionalize standard analysis and assessment models
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 7 years of experience in product marketing, development or commercialization
Ability to travel 25% is required

MBA or Master degree from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 7-10 additional years of experience in product marketing, development or commercialization
5-9 years sales or marketing experience within aviation industry
Strong Quantitative & Analytical rigor – ability to understand what matters, and impact to business
Demonstrated achievement & leadership in commercial and/or marketing roles
Clear-thinker, good listener, externally focused, problem-solver
The individual should have experiences in commercial model development and provide commercial insights to the team
Strong organizational skills
Interpersonal skills with ability to embrace & drive change
Knowledge of aviation landscape & trends
Practical understanding of current and emerging industry trends and customer economics
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to easily convey concepts to peers, customers and global teams
