Role Summary:
The Avio Aero Plant in Brindisi is the home of Manufacturing for Frames & Cases and Maintenance Repair & Overhaul for Military, Marine & Industrial Programs. The growth of the facility will continue with Additive Manufacturing. We are looking for next generation of talents to be included in the newly created Additive Organization. In these roles you will get a broad overview of the activities in Additive Manufacturing, learning key processes and developing competences related to Additive Mfg.

Essential Responsibilities:
We are looking for several professionals with a strong passion in cutting edge manufacturing technologies who can join the company and contribute to this project.
Your role could be:

Manufacturing Engineer:
  • Supports Mechanical Component Design by guaranteeing the compatibility between design itself and manufacturing process, technical requirements and evidences evaluation in the technological validation process for all aspects related to materials and special processes
  • Manages configuration for each part number
  • Provides support to machine operators for the solution of problems related to the operation of the machine
  • Support root cause investigations
  • Supports research projects related to the development of more performant machines/equipment
Design Engineering Specialist:
  • Drive key additive manufacturing technology development opportunities from CAD model, to part builds, and through post-processing
  • Create detailed mechanical design of engine components using 3D cad software oriented to manufacturability.
  • Analyze current designs and new concepts with sensitivity and tolerance analysis.
  • Carry out structural analysis both Static and Fatigue
  • Work with internal and external subject matter experts to determine feasibility.
  • Develop documentation such as CAD models, 2D drawings, operating instructions, and spare parts lists for each solution and work with plant personnel to implement it.
  • Review and interpret data to make recommendations on immediate actions, long term corrective actions, follow-up experiments, etc.
  • Capture new ideas for possible patent submission
Lab Specialist:
  • Monitor mechanical tests, chemical analysis on the metallic powders and metallurgical documents;
  • Preparation of procedures and instruction of laboratory, management and storage of documents, training of personnel;
  • Monitor qualification procedures, quality metrics and KPI measures using the statistical process control and measurement systems analysis;
  • Identify and control of non-conforming products, management of preliminary review, root cause analysis and corrective action.
Quality Engineer:
  • Monitor production processes from a quality standpoint to recognize improvement opportunities, and work with stakeholders to identify and implement effective Corrective/Preventive action plans;
  • Promote the awareness and compliance to the Avio Aero and/or specific Customer requirements;
  • Assure that adequate inspection/test plans are defined and supervise on their correct application;
  • Monitor the quality indicators for the overall process, collect and analyze quality data and take part to the definition and following implementation and monitoring of improvement plans together with Manufacturing Engineer;
  • Prepare the qualification packages for first qualification and following process changes;
  • Conduct investigations following customer escapes or other quality issues;
  • Support customer audits and assure implementation of corrective actions

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Master Degree in the following disciplines: Mechanical, Aerospace or Materials Engineering or Physics;
  • Digital Attitude;
  • Fluency in Italian and English is mandatory;
  • Ability to work in cross functional teams;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written, oral communication and good presentation skills;
  • Confident Microsoft skills - Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access;
  • Passionate about additive and related technologies;
  • EU Work Permit
