Essential Responsibilities: Lead industrialization efforts to transition new products into lean manufacturing environment. Create and maintain production assembly line balancing. Create software programs to automate certain manual production processes in electronics area. Develop production planning tools for master scheduling, sales and operations planning. Troubleshoot technical issues during the production build process. Responsible for planning and execution, designing manufacturing processes, and leading production process improvement programs. Develop labor standards and routings, workstation loading and manpower requirements. Implement GE Brilliant Factory on the production floor. Ensure on-time shipments, scrap analysis, WIP, and labor productivity in production. Detailed knowledge of polarization maintaining fiber splicing and splicer programming. Perform advanced statistical experiments and data analysis to reduce product customization. Develop advanced mathematical models to describe and control product performance. Apply knowledge of work level planning concepts within a low to medium volume, high mix, engineered, make-to-order environment. Expected to perform in a manufacturing business organization while mastering concepts such as but not limited to standard cost, engineering BOM, material variance, master schedule, through-put, lead-time, and production cycle; SAP ERP on both a micro and macro level; and in a matrix organizational environment.
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field, and three (3) years of related industrial experience in the job offered or in a related Production Manager/Engineer occupation required. The position also requires 3 years industrial experience in operations and engineering; 2 years experience in lean process flow and implementation; 2 years experience with international, matrix environment, technical & industrial business; 2 years demonstrating intermediate software programming skills (C/C++/C#/Java/SQL); 2 years of differential equation modeling and analysis using Matlab and MathCAD tools; 2 years of statistical modeling and predictive analysis using Minitab and R analytical tools; and 3 years experience with MS Excel and Visio.
