Role Summary: The Human Resources Manager is the first point of contact for assigned Baker Hughes, a GE Company (BHGE) managers and employees, to provide advice, coaching and support on HR fundamentals and employee related questions. This role is critical in executing our location wide initiatives, providing available and responsive internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.
Essential Responsibilities: This role will report to a Sr. Human Resources Manager, be part of a pooled resource team and directly support a cross-functional client base of approximately 250 employees at one or more locations in the Oklahoma City area, executing our area wide initiatives, providing available and responsive internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.
In the role of Human Resources Manager you, you will:
Be responsible for "Walking the floor" being available for employee and manager needs
Be an integral part of the local leadership team(s) and provide input and guidance into business actions from an HR perspective
Provide dedicated guidance and coaching to multiple leaders, managers, supervisors and employees within a complex business environment, including supporting multiple matrixed organizations with acquired businesses, union relations, or global footprints
Provide dedicated guidance and coaching to multiple managers and employees with specific focus on: employee advocacy/engagement, HR fundamentals and process training, employee relations management, performance management, career development, talent assessment, acquisition and retention and workplace investigations as appropriate
Provide employees and managers with an available first point of contact for questions and guidance on fundamental HR topics and issues; direct employees and managers to relevant Centers of Excellence (e.g. benefits, payroll, HR Services, Employee Self Service applications) when it is the more appropriate resource and escalate concerns beyond their scope to appropriate resources
Partner with HR Business Partners and other HR team members to execute business-specific HR strategies.
Ensure that all employee relations issues are properly identified, reported, investigated and resolved including conducting investigations, gathering, preserving, documenting and analyzing all available information and evidence, and in many circumstances, making recommendations to the business on disciplinary action
Provide advice and counsel to managers and employees to ensure consistent application and integration of policies, procedures and practices at 100% compliance to promote an ethical and compliant work environment
Coach hiring managers through the talent acquisition process- provide guidance with needs assessment and job definition, selection process and interviewing, and ensuring offer integrity
Lead key HR processes including performance development, compensation planning and compliance
Conduct HR training and support for functional processes like Performance Development (PD), People Reviews, Salary Planning and New Employee Orientation
Organize and recruit at local career fairs and at universities in the Permian region
Participate actively with the broader BHGE HR teams on projects and program teams
Assist with other HR special projects or initiatives as needed
Maintain and protect confidential data with utmost scrutiny, judgment, and care
Lead other site-wide HR projects as necessary, working across multiple client groups
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
Minimum 3 years of experience in the Human Resources function with responsibilities in recruiting, training, compensation, benefits, employee development and/or performance management
Must be willing to work from an office in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Travel up to 10% of the time including occasionally driving to other sites in the Oklahoma Region
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources from an accredited college or university
GE HRLP Graduate or graduate of a similar program
Minimum 2 years of experience working in a HR role directly supporting client groups including managers, supervisors and front line employees
Experience providing HR support to a Services organization
Enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment
Approachable and responsive resource able to connect with employees at all levels
Comfortable with high volume workload and able to manage multiple priorities
Willing to "roll up your sleeves" and get involved in details
Strong internal and external customer service focus, with a genuine desire to assist others
Strong project management and complex problem-solving skills
Strong presentation skills and facilitation experience, needed to effectively deliver a variety of HR-related training programs to groups of managers/colleagues
Ability to interface at all levels of the organization
Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented (especially with regard to effectively managing and documenting employee relations issues and investigations)
Certification with a recognized professional HR organization/institute
