Role Summary:
The OEM Account Manager within Product Solutions will be responsible for developing and maintaining productive working relationships with assigned OEM’s, at all levels of their organization. The position will support the Southeast territory.



Essential Responsibilities:
As the OEM Account Manager, you will:

  • Plan and implement sales strategies to maximize market share and margin; motivate Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM’s) to prefer GE over the competition
  • Develop relationships with Distributors that are OEM focused and influence them to utilize GE in their project proposals
  • Educate customer base about differentiating products with technical presentations etc.
  • Generate cross-selling leads and make it easier to do business with Industrial Solutions
  • Identify and track upcoming sales opportunities and influence customer specifications to favor GE
  • Conduct technical presentations to create preference for GE
  • Introduce new products to existing customer base and identify target customers
  • Meet or exceed assigned volume and margin measurements
  • Develop cost effective proposals from project plans and specs and negotiate and secure project orders; provide value engineering suggestions; provide full packages to differentiate from competition utilizing full product breadth such as Transformers, LV & MV Circuit Breakers, Motor Control, Panel Boards, Drives and Switchgear etc.
  • Understand market pricing and utilize to successfully close opportunities
  • Provide market feedback, competitive intelligence and hit-rate information to business and sales leadership
  • Track sales leads, wins and losses in Customer Response Management (CRM) system; perform analysis on hit-rate data
  • Create customer marketing programs New Product Introduction (NPI) launch, training to promote GE products and services
  • Identify new customers and create customer profiles to understand GE’s position
  • Participate in industry and local construction organizations to build relationships


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience


Desired Characteristics:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical industry and GE products
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Experience working with Industrial end users and OEM’s
  • Strong technical application, take-off, and proposal development skills
  • Customer-focused mindset with proven ability to respond quickly to customer needs
  • Strong coordination and influencing skills
  • Knowledge of customer financial drivers / needs
  • Ability to apply Six Sigma to improve customer satisfaction
  • Six Sigma or equivalent Quality training
  • Ability to utilize analytical software and sales tools
  • Strong oral, written communication skills and presentation skills
  • Commercial Leadership Program (CLP) Graduate (GE Employees only)
