Role Summary: Responsible for driving technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis. Seasoned, senior level individual contributors and managers requiring in-depth understanding of their business or function and how their role integrates with others within their discipline. Role requires good understanding of clients, industry, function and commercial markets.
Essential Responsibilities: The Assistant Controller will be responsible for the following:
Provide controllership leadership to the rest of the business and support the teams to understand the controllership implications of transactions and other matters by providing expertise and accounting guidance
Provide guidance to all Product Line controllers as needed on Key BHGE Controllership projects
Work closely with Closing & Reporting and IT to maintain accounting, financial reporting, financial control, and information systems to ensure adequate records, appropriate authorizations of transactions, and safeguard assets
Drive overall product company ownership and accountability regarding Controllership initiatives across business, including key Controllership metrics
Provide oversight with Operational Controllership to ensure the product company is complying with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements
Manage interactions with accounting shared service organizations including account reconciliations, closing processes, general ledger & financial systems maintenance, and accounting compliance
Lead & support business and process improvement initiatives
Oversight for OFE statutory requirements (Stat to GAAP, STIR, etc) & related metrics
Drive accounting standard changes through reporting
Support OFE Controller on ad hoc reporting, technical and operational requests
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent knowledge & experience
Proven years of experience in a controllership position
Effective leader / influencer at within the organization
Strong verbal and written communication capabilities
Strong process management skills and team leadership experience
Strong communication skills
Ability to work with teams across functions and around the globe
