Role Summary: The GE Transportation Manufacturing Excellence Professional Program (MEPP) develops individuals for front-line management positions in a lean manufacturing and assembly environment. MEPP is a 39-month program that allows members to build leadership and functional skills through challenging rotational assignments and training. In this role MEPPs are involved in GE’s strategic initiatives such as Advanced Manufacturing and Lean.
Essential Responsibilities: Program Summary: Intensive 39-month entry level program consisting of 3-months of off-site technical training and 3 rotational assignments that are each one year in length. Possible Assignments include: test development engineering, test planning, test support , supervision, quality and material roles all with a focus on field services and test.
2-year Technical Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or Military Occupational Specialty (or a High School Diploma/GED with at least 5 years of manufacturing supervisory experience, electrical engineering, or similar preferred)
Proficient use of the Microsoft Office Suite
Willingness and ability to work in Manufacturing environment
Willingness and ability to work days and attend school in the evenings in pursuit of a Bachelor's Degree (if not already obtained)
Willingness and ability to relocate
Technical Bachelor’s Degree
Strong technical background and a mechanical or electrical aptitude
Self-directed, detailed oriented, inclusive, organized, and flexible
Effective written and oral communication skills
Effective troubleshooting and customer service skills
Computer programming experience
Automated testing experience
Electrical safety skills
