Role Summary:
The Digital Hubs spread across Bangalore, Budapest, Detroit, New Orleans and Riyadh form a key strategy and execution enabler to the org. The Data and Analytics (DnA) domain within the Hubs is looking for a ‘Senior Director’ who would be a key thought leader within the digital technology function in the GE Digital organization. The individual’s primary responsibility would cover the global finance operations org globally and be a key partner to them in the DnA space.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Lead all data related activities (data discovery and organization on SQL/Big data stack, cleansing and data prep) to support development of new approaches and methodologies to improve operations and business outcomes for all FDL engagements within the Digital Hubs
• Build and develop a world-class global team to deliver on all DnA priorities working with the Global DnA leader for Finance Operations. Responsible for people leadership activities including recruitment, talent development, performance management, compensation, organization, and teaming.
• Lead program management, including operationalization of analytic methods and products in functional settings, and drive agile development of new methods and capabilities
• Act as thought leader for the use of data and analytics to drive critical business decisions, business strategy and able to serve as coach / mentor for the team
• Ensure customer adoption & drive consumption of analytics, and maximize usage and use of analytics with customers
• Champion a cutting-edge, real-time, in-memory ‘Big Data’ culture to disrupt and introduce a new paradigm in data analytics and decision making within the GE Finance functions.
• Collaborate with a world-class team made up of the full spectrum of the data function (data scientists, data visualizers, data engineers, data platform experts, data management analysts among others) across the company to develop and lead the platform strategy while working in a fastpaced, challenging, and data driven environment.
• Maintain a strong understanding of existing and upcoming ingestion technology (e.g. Talend, HVR, Greenplum, Hive), real-time in-memory technologies like Spark, Kafka, Druid, Presto, drive innovation in the space, execute proof of concepts and oversee the execution of delivery.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Finance, Management, Engineering or equivalent
• 14+ years of experience working in Information Technology
• 7+ years managing a Big Data environment with experience in real-time data processing, platform architecture and in-memory systems
• 5+ years of experience with global enterprise data (e.g. Finance ERP, Supply Chain information)
• Prior experience with Cloud computing
• Resourceful and quick learner; able to efficiently seek out, learn, & apply new areas of expertise as needed

Desired Characteristics:
• Functional understanding of Financial systems and ERP software, exposure to Sourcing and GL modules
• Familiarity with Data Science techniques and concepts and visualization tools like Spotfire, Tableau
• Confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways, balances multiple and competing priorities and
• executes accordingly
• Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to professionally interact with a diverse blend of personalities to reach resolution and maintain strong relationships
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to articulate technical concepts in non-technical terms that appeal to business stakeholders
