Role Summary: The Project Manager reports to the China/Asia Region Head of Project Management, Enterprise Solutions, part of GE Healthcare Life Sciences. Enterprise Solutions provides start-to-finish solutions for bioprocessing facilities designed to customer specification.
Essential Responsibilities: • Leading and managing the global project team from project conception through biopharmaceutical facility and operation design, delivery and plant start-up. • Coordination, motivating and driving objectives across cross-functional groups including sub-contractors to deliver effective results • Ensuring compliance with Finance, Accounting, Legal, Sourcing, EHS and other internal functional support processes • Managing global program resources, quality objectives, regulatory requirements, schedules, change management, program risk management and making decisions based on business objectives • Managing/ executing all customer, vendor/supplier and consulting contracts coordinating efforts with facility and construction engineering personnel • Chairing internal and customer Project Team meetings on a regular basis and reporting out to stakeholders • Preparing project plans, schedules, budgets, monthly reports, meeting minutes, and maintaining high quality project files • Maintaining excellent customer relationships, communication, and exchange of information as required by the contract and to support timely and efficient project execution ● Travel as needed to support the project; ~ 15-50%
Quality Specific Goals: 1. Familiar with FDA, cGMP and other regulatory and guidelines applicable to biomanufacturing facility design and operation 2. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position 3. Aware of and comply with the GEHC ES Project Management Manual 4. Complete all planned EHS & Compliance training within the defined deadlines 5. Identify and report any compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
Qualifications/Requirements: 1. BS Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent (defined as a BS and 10 years relevant work experience) 2. Ten (10) years relevant project leadership experience with capital project execution in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry 3. Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional project teams and an ability to drive project design plans to completion 4. Demonstrated success in building and leading collaborative global and cross-functional teams and relationships 5. Demonstrated facilitation and negotiation skills in driving closure on product/program-related decisions/issues
Desired Characteristics: 1. Masters degree in Engineering or equivalent (defined as 12 years progressive experience within biopharmaceutical engineering, biopharmaceutical manufacturing, bioscience, or related field, including 8 years project leadership experience within biopharmaceutical facility design, construction, startup, manufacturing, development, or research development) 2. Project Management certification (PMBOK or similar) preferred 3. Sound technical and domain experience in at least one functional technology area 4. Excellent knowledge in engineering, program management and business planning 5. Strategic planner and thinker 6. Demonstrated working experience with global teams 7. Strong written and oral communication skills 8. Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task 9. Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation
