Role Summary: This role is the Financial analyst for the FG&M (Flow, Gas & Moisture) component of measurement and sensing business, a component within GE Oil & Gas. This role reports to the FG&M Product Line Finance Leader. This role is expected to drive budgeting, performance reporting and analytics on full P&L. In addition, role provides opportunity to work directly with FG&M Operations team to drive Services, Projects & base cost and process improvements across the business.
Essential Responsibilities: This person will also partner with the FG&M leadership team to lead all Base cost planning sessions.
In the role of FG&M Operations Finance Analyst, you will:
Be a partner to the FG&M Ops team to drive business reporting, analytics and profitability
Build detailed financial models that track and analyze projects/services, functional costs and headcount and their impact on the business’s overall performance
Drive the building of quarterly and annual budget/forecast and tracking performance
Develop budget templates, reports, calendars, etc
Partner with M&S Operations team to drive strategic decisions based on reporting/analysis, including projects
Focus on process improvement opportunities across P&L to improve efficiency and performance
Assist M&S PL Finance Manager and team on all other matters as required
Coordinate commercial inputs for all FP&A planning cycles (e.g. analysis to set targets, BPR deck preparation)
Develop/Support pacing mechanisms
Provide thought leadership to Ops team on forecasting/modeling performance and determining proper KPIs to track
Analyze product cost for projects business
Analyze as sold vs as executed CM for projects
Lead all commercial reporting requirements both internally and externally during quarter close
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and transparency in commercial pacing and reporting activities across the business
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from an accredited college or university
Minimum 3 years of experience in Finance or related field
Proven track record of building, evaluating and implementing business cases
Advanced Excel analysis skills coupled with great visuals that tell the business story
Strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills
Intense attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast paced and dynamic environment with a high degree of personal accountability
Self-starter - demonstrating high energy/creativity, relentless customer-focus, and entrepreneurial spirit
Financial experience should include full P&L familiarity and budget management
Experience in data mining across multiple large data sets with solid understanding of relational database structure
Highly analytical & curious with previous experience in FP&A
Ability to challenge status quo and influence cross-functional and global counterparts
Ability to execute across multiple priorities independently & decisively
Effectively communicates across all levels of management & staff (written, oral and powerpoint)
Experience with BI, SAP, HFM and Salesforce
