Role Summary: Lead the implementation and expansion of GE’s Invoice-to Cash global enterprise standard, with specialization in Cash Application across the GO Region of MENAT and SSA. This role plus other roles in the pillar will work towards Cash Optimization for GE and driving the Single AR view for company. The position will focus on driving standardization, quality and digitization of operations in a compliant manner.
Essential Responsibilities: The incumbent will partner with internal GO and GE Business stakeholders to implement process enhancements and analytics in alignment to the global standard while demonstrating leadership across the region.
Responsibilities • Ownership and management of Invoice-to-Cash operations, specifically on cash application • Build out a cash delivery model, business partnering & responsiveness, support portfolio transition to GO and/or WCS and provide leadership oversight and governance on cash and AML • Drive reduction of unapplied cash and credit notes, managing the escalation mechanism for this to closure • Own the metrics and rigor around write offs, adjustments and other deductions instituting processes, controls, and adherence • Chief custodian of cheques (current and post-dated); • Drive utilization of GECARs tool for all metrics around cash and visibility of these. • Identify opportunities for simplification and lean processes increasing productivities with stakeholder buy in • Support building strong controllership W2W process, strengthening internal controls, ensure order/revenue tracking, identify gaps in & streamline I2C processes in partnership with business operations teams • Responsible for developing and directing the improvement implementation and standardization of the Process to ensure that each country is aligned with the global teams to support the region and global needs; measure and minimize country/region-specific process variations; • Support execution of the migration plans that enable GE businesses to move from their current systems and processes to the I2C platforms; managing Transition Tollgates and Deliverables and help to overcome roadblocks; facilitating all transition related communication and reporting. • Ensure Integrity is upheld throughout all processes, policies and practices, by ensuring appropriate communication and training of related activities; and • Responsible for ensuring effective delivery of products through monitoring team work scope and performance, tracking regular performance metrics and reviewing performance with process leaders to drive process improvement. • Be a business partner or finance enabler to the upstream teams, which includes but not limited to Commercial Finance, Commercial Operations, and Order-to-Remittance execution team. • Engage in consultative selling with the GE businesses to understand their needs and to identify growth opportunities for Invoice to Cash team. • Sustain a learning and customer-oriented culture and organization that facilitate operation and customer needs best. • Lead, manage and/or coach team members, demonstrate horizontal working; drive a high-performance team plus developing career paths
Other responsibilities could potentially include: • Product management: Drive transformation of services, demand planning/forecasting, new service introduction, etc. • Leadership support: Provide support for changes in operational processes and build relationships with operational leadership to drive business decision making. • Productivity: Analyze results with Operational partners to drive unit cost productivity understanding and opportunity identification. • Process Assist with defining enhancements to financial processes and drive operational accountability/ownership of costs, contractor management and alignment of revenue with expense trends.
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited College or University • Formal finance qualification: CPA, CA, ACCA, GE FMP or equivalent; • Hands-on operational finance management experience in Global Operations, or business finance or equivalent with a strong bias to I2C/OTR processes including Accounts Receivable systems • Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills • Experience in a Finance shared services environment is mandatory • Cultural awareness & sensitivity: ability to flex style to suit differing cultural norms and experience of leading a culturally diverse team; • Ability to define and consistently communicate the organizational vision and strategy at all levels of the organization • Strategic thinker with a proven ability to anticipate, and resolve complicated issues coupled with a strong sense of ownership and accountability and a proven track record of execution;
Desired Characteristics: • At least 6 to 8 years of relevant working experience; • Ability to assimilate regulatory and compliance requirements into an on-going operational framework • Excellent communication, influencing & presentation skills (including fluency in English) • Working knowledge of US GAAP, local reporting requirements (IFRS), ERP or systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP) and finance operation processes and controls • Fluency in French, Arabic or Spanish would be an added advantage.
