Role Summary: This role will work closely with developers, QA, Sys Admins, and customers to support and scale a growing data analytics platform. Maintaining and improving the performance of our SQL Server instances will be a focus of this role, as well as providing support for the application environment.
Serve as key service delivery provider for Microsoft SQL Server database availability and performance
Provide technical assistance in analyzing and resolving SQL database performance and stability challenges
Design, test, and install database management systems for use with applications; monitor database usage; ensure appropriate linkages with applications and to other data processing systems
Work with the development team to advise and implement changes for improvement of SQL database performance and stability
Monitor SQL databases and respond to alerts
Maintain and troubleshoot Microsoft Enterprise and in house developed business applications
Develop automated utilities with shell and SQL scripting
Focus on both infrastructure and software aspects of SQL database systems and application maintenance to deliver optimum platform performance and uptime
Perform remote software and hardware installations and upgrades of Microsoft SQL server and in-house developed applications
Participate as a team member/leader on application, architecture, or technology projects as required; take responsibility for project tasks, make and meet commitments
Develop solutions to architectural and operational needs of the business
Produce documentation and provide appropriate communications for responsibilities assigned
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited college/university or 5+ years experience in the one of the fields.
5+ years of current, professional level experience implementing and maintaining Enterprise wide applications, databases, and servers.

Experience with latest SQL versions (2014 or better)
Experience with stored procedures performance tuning and debugging
Experience with Microsoft SQL replication (log shipping / Always ON)
Experience with C# scripting
Data Warehouse Administration
Experience in performance tuning of large data sets, OLTP, and OLAP databases
Experience working with minimal direct supervision; able to self-start and show initiative in completing new tasks without direction
Experience in a software development or data science environment
