Role Summary:
This role will work closely with developers, QA, Sys Admins, and customers to support and scale a growing data analytics platform. Maintaining and improving the performance of our SQL Server instances will be a focus of this role, as well as providing support for the application environment.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Serve as key service delivery provider for Microsoft SQL Server database availability and performance
  • Provide technical assistance in analyzing and resolving SQL database performance and stability challenges
  • Design, test, and install database management systems for use with applications; monitor database usage; ensure appropriate linkages with applications and to other data processing systems
  • Work with the development team to advise and implement changes for improvement of SQL database performance and stability
  • Monitor SQL databases and respond to alerts
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Microsoft Enterprise and in house developed business applications
  • Develop automated utilities with shell and SQL scripting
  • Focus on both infrastructure and software aspects of SQL database systems and application maintenance to deliver optimum platform performance and uptime
  • Perform remote software and hardware installations and upgrades of Microsoft SQL server and in-house developed applications
  • Participate as a team member/leader on application, architecture, or technology projects as required; take responsibility for project tasks, make and meet commitments
  • Develop solutions to architectural and operational needs of the business
  • Produce documentation and provide appropriate communications for responsibilities assigned

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited college/university or 5+ years experience in the one of the fields.
  • 5+ years of current, professional level experience implementing and maintaining Enterprise wide applications, databases, and servers.

    Eligibility Requirements

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job.

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience with latest SQL versions (2014 or better)
  • Experience with stored procedures performance tuning and debugging
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL replication (log shipping / Always ON)
  • Experience with C# scripting
  • Data Warehouse Administration
  • Experience in performance tuning of large data sets, OLTP, and OLAP databases
  • Experience working with minimal direct supervision; able to self-start and show initiative in completing new tasks without direction
  • Experience in a software development or data science environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Proven analytical and problem resolution skills
