Role Summary:
The Assembler position will be responsible for the assembling of electronic, mechanical and pneumatic operations.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Perform electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic or similarly related repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations related to soldering, sub-assemblies, and basic, mid-level, and / or final assemblies
  • Perform assembly operations using established procedures, work instructions, schematics, and / or other approved documentation
  • Perform inspection of own work to identify nonconformances
  • Ability to identify when inspection frequencies are not adequate
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot test equipment without assistance
  • Analyze / troubleshoot product issues to determine root cause and corrective action
  • Train other level operators and stamp off on associate level soldering
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and / or engage appropriate support staff
  • Acknowledge and support team decisions
  • Actively participate in team meetings and events
  • The individual will have the responsibility and authority to carry out all assigned tasks
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Positions will be on first, second and third shift
  • This position may be required to perform safety sensitive work in the future, and would be subject at that time to random drug and alcohol testing under Federal Aviation Administration regulations. GE Aviation, Loves Park has a zero-tolerance policy.
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

    Qualifications/Requirements:
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Solder certified
  • Operator certification level 2
  • Lab certified

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

  • Ability to use, train others on the use of, and set up electrical / mechanical measurement tools while using test equipment without assistance
  • Basic understanding of G,D, & T (identify symbols)
  • Understand the function of schematics in their entirety for aid in troubleshooting components and/or systems in pertinent area
  • Familiarity with operator plans -- test procedures, collaborate with others to make changes or corrections, able to assist IE on additions, deletions, etc. to plans
  • Ability and willingness to use and maintain the required assembly hand tools
  • Ability and willingness to recognize and diagnose problems in a timely manner. Collaborate with support staff, if needed
  • Ability and willingness to set-up and operate all assembly equipment as required
  • Ability and willingness to proactively mediate / facilitate team discussions, and engage sustaining engineering to resolve issues
  • Ability and willingness to lift / move material up to 25 pounds
  • Ability and willingness to work frequent overtime as required and / or needed by the business
  • May be required to work with hazardous materials

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Minimum of 1 year aerospace industry or similar manufacturing experience
  • Working towards a 2 year degree in electronics from an accredited college or institution
  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer to navigate on-line documents, drawings, and instructions
  • Prior experience working in a team oriented environment
  • Conscientious regarding safety and quality of workmanship
  • Ability and willingness to collaboratively approaches other team members regarding internal conflict, disagreements or technical issues or questions
