Role Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Marketing Communications Manager is our internal communications expert and digital marketing leader, responsible for defining GE Ventures marketing and communications strategy from idea through delivery.

Essential Responsibilities:
A seasoned communicator, strategist, futurist, and hands-on executor, the Marketing Communications Manager will lead digital marketing efforts, managing GE Ventures’ social media channels, website, blog, and nurture programs. The Marketing Communications manager will also support marketing campaigns, brand positioning, and thought leadership efforts. The Marketing Communications Manager will work closely with the Director of Communications on external communications, media relations, and PR efforts. 
  • Define marketing and communications strategy and approach for GE Ventures and lead execution 
  • Lead and manage marketing nurture programs in partnership with the Marketing Automation Manager 
  • Support external communications for GE Ventures’ investment practices, new business creation, licensing and early market development, working closely with Director of communications 
  • Support media and public relations for GE Ventures’ platform and thought leaders, working closely with Director of communications  
  • Support thought leadership efforts to build and enhance GE Ventures brand 
  • Lead social media for GE Ventures to enhance and build reputation with target audiences 
  • Manage GEV website and blog to drive brand awareness, boost readership, and deliver commercial impact 
  • Support brand positioning in partnership with other members of the Marketing Team 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Communications, Digital Media, Journalism or Writing 
  • 7+ years of experience in content marketing, writing/communications, brand strategy, creative digital experience, digital marketing, digital/social strategy, and content production


Desired Characteristics:
  • Prior experience in venture capital or private equity / licensing a plus
  • B2B marketing experience developing and executing marketing plans and programs 
  • Ability to lead, manage and influence in cross-functional and cross-business teams  
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills and able to work independently 
  • Able to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously with appropriate sense of urgency 
  • Able to learn new industries, customers and technologies and translate value to customers
  • Individual must be self-focusing and able to drive the critical few priorities in an environment where many demands and requests present themselves 
  • Ability to work well within a team environment, participate in department/team projects and balance detail with departmental objectives  
  • A track record demonstrating the ability to formulate strategic communications plans 
  • Advanced understanding of global audiences and cultural sensitivities. 
  • Deep knowledge of technology space including media, thought-leaders, digital strategies 
  • Demonstrated strong writing, editing and proofreading skills 
  • Ability to clearly and concisely convey ideas to executive leadership 
  • Team player attitude with ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent project management skills. Ability to manage projects to meet aggressive deadlines with high standards for quality 
  • Positive, flexible, team-oriented attitude 
  • Self-starter 
  • Creative thinker, with proven ability to generate new ideas 
  • Ability to work in a matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders 
  • Willing to travel approximately 50% of the time
