Role Summary: As a key member of the Mechanical Maintenance team, you will play a lead role in the drive for continuous improvement in all aspects of the power station’s mechanical systems. As well as providing first line diagnostics, repair and maintenance, you will also be at the forefront of any site enhancement projects and upgrade programs.

Whilst this job description states the key duties and responsibilities of the post-holder, it is expected that all employees act to the best of their ability to assist in the efficient achievement of the company’s business objectives.
Due to the small number of technical personnel at Sutton Bridge the company relies on the close co-operation and multi-skilled attitude of operations and maintenance staff.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: • Diagnose systems and equipment problems • Repair, maintain and install systems and equipment and rearrange and modify as directed • Using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), manage work orders, risk assessment and method statements to safely control work. • Help in the production of contract work scopes. • Develop and implement mechanical maintenance programs, including the creation of maintenance philosophy documents and procedures. • Maintain the CMMS for equipment changes, defect reports, work requisitions and orders, equipment and stores usage etc • Perform craft activities, including, but not limited to, machining, welding and pipefitting functions • Coordinate outage work scopes and packages, scheduling as required with the operation department. • Provide callout cover in the event of equipment failures • Manage and supervise contractors to complete maintenance as required • Serve as advisor on all Mechanical equipment matters • Maintain Mechanical drawings and specification files • Assist in training shift personnel in preventative maintenance activities as directed • Working with and supporting site IT systems and software as appropriate to individual training and experience. • Sourcing the best value for money spares and services through competitive bidding. Using the CMMS to raise purchase orders.
• Conduct training programs as required • Any other duties as directed by the Engineering Manager / Maintenance Supervisor as are deemed to be within his/her capabilities • The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for the Health and Safety of him/her-self, any contractors working under his/her direction and in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. • In the event of a major incident, the Mechanical Maintenance Technician will act as directed by the Incident Commander who will initially be the Shift Supervisor
