Role Summary:
As the Sr Staff Software Architect, you will play a key role in defining the Software Architecture and Design for a set of autonomous systems management products. You will guide and contribute the development and delivery of innovative systems that provides services for a variety of autonomous systems planning, operations and analytics activities.

Essential Responsibilities:
You will influence the design of secure client services, user experience, and robust back-end SW infrastructure using modern and cloud based SW tools and technologies. You will serve as a trusted advisor and SW technology leader within this new venture. You will collaborate and coordinate SW product designs to support a product roadmap and customer needs. You will help to lead engineering development efforts and manage engineering / customer partner relationships with both our external and internal technical teams.

You will be essential to the creation of Software Architecture and Design, as well as it realization, demonstration, and delivery.
  • Drive Software Engineering and Architecture
  • Communicate and clarify architecture to engineering and business teams
  • Lead efforts to define SW roadmaps and engineering practices
  • Lead SW reviews across development teams
  • Evangelize strong and practical software development, integration and testing practices
  • Lead evaluation and selection SW technologies
  • Coordinate efforts of different SW product components and teams
  • Drive Agile development processes and aggressive SW delivery timelines
  • Support and partner with product management, sales and marketing teams
  • Respond and adapt to evolving business and leadership needs
  • Maintain continuous accountability across the engineering team
  • Provide regular and timely progress reports to leadership team
  • Support customer and investor engagements


Qualifications/Requirements:
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in science, engineering, technology or related discipline with 10+ years’ work experience in Software Development and Engineering or Master’s Degree with 8+ years’ experience
  • Prior experience leading SW teams
  • Development experience with Java enterprise SW, Web technologies, Cloud platforms and technologies, SW project management tools, Version control tools, and CI / CD tools
  • Prior experience with database technologies, distributed software systems, and micro-service architectures
  • Strong skills in designing and developing scalable algorithms

Desired Technical Expertise:
  • Prior experience in architecting multiple systems using modern SW technology stack to including OS, DB, middleware, application layer, virtualization & cloud technologies
  • Modern programming languages including Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • Web language syntax including: HTML, CSS
  • Database technologies such as SQL and NoSQL/NewSQL
  • Use of Agile software process management tools
  • Use of software management and continuous integration tools
  • Use of documentation tools
Leadership:
  • Ability to work with & lead blended teams, including 3rd party partners and customer personnel
  • Ability to implement Change Management into an implementation plan
