Role Summary: The OWS Engineering Specialist will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role, you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the company.
Essential Responsibilities: Provide manufacturing technical support on engines, components and piece parts to planners, Design Engineering, in-house shops
Lead cost reduction efforts at site level and coordinate with global OWS teams
Assist the business to ensure all Air Carrier continuous airworthiness requirements are met and that the appropriate technical data is used and referenced in the workscope planning for each individual work order
Be responsible for helping OWS Engineering / OWS Quality Leader to maintain and revise of all engineering routers which are required for all work performed by the repair station
Work closely with the quality manager to update and maintain the technical library Be called upon to assist approval through the OEM and FAA DER as necessary for departures from approved technical data as necessary
Provide functional direction to assist the organization in resolving manufacturing problems and meeting goals
Scrutinize business managed procurement team activities such as should cost studies, supplier quotation analysis, supplier selection and capability studies Counsel activities involving supplier productivity problems, delivery problems and repair Procedures
Stimulate repair procedures and material review board action if required
Participate and encourage the communication of objectives, principles, business plans, goals, achievements, and problems to all employees of the organization
Assist in preparing a total plan for new proposals and the modification of hardware and process, emphasizing production of top quality products at lowest possible cost
Provide a focal point for the operation to control tooling, workstation setup.
On occasion, be required to lead jobs and perform Technician, Inspector or Signatory duties Work closely with Quality, Planners and Business Leaders to ensure the your site has a robust training plan by person
Lead the "on the job" training program with technicians and/or inspectors as the "hands-on" training instructor for existing and/or new workscopes to build-out capacity
Be responsible for site tooling and P&E including budgeting, planning, interface with procurement source and GAP compliance for capital expenditures
Qualifications/Requirements: Qualifications/Requirements High School Diploma / GED Minimum of 6 years of experience in mechanic / planner / engineering function in aviation
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT: A&P Licensed or equivalent agency as required
