Role Summary:
The Director of Project Management Radiography Systems leads a team of Project Managers driving wing to wing project execution activities. In this role you will be responsible to ensure complex orders are executed on time per contractual term and within budget within the product modality. You will also be responsible for identifying project delays, implementing root cause analysis and driving continuous improvement of the business project management processes.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Provides full scope of leadership for direct reports, including performance evaluation, annual assessment, salary planning, and employee development.
  • Creates an environment which enables the attraction of new, qualified talent to the organization and retention of key talent
  • Drive Team Culture: Culture of Customer Experience, Culture of Performance, Culture of Compliance and Culture of Predictability
  • Drive organizational effectiveness in order to achieve business goals and the development of employees.
  • Ensure load balancing and allocation of PM suitable resources within allocated team
  • Work as Senior Project Manager in defined very complex high risk projects
  • Identify & manage risks, monitor financial and operational performance against the agreed timescales, and initiates corrective action where appropriate
  • Resolve specification and commercial issues, manage correspondence, provide periodic updates, ensure customer satisfaction, and negotiate/ coordinate with staff as appropriate.
  • Responsible for the financial performance of a portfolio of projects and on-time delivery in accordance with contract
  • Responsible for project risk issues including receivables, claims, contract changes, margin enhancement, and effective project closeout
  • Support the operations inititiatives driving standardization, control and visibility
  • Participate in discussions about the future of the business requiring frequent and thorough interaction with other functions
  • Development of the annual plan for the own function the basis of the framework of the strategic plan for the whole unit
  • Present projects plans, technical roadmaps, risks and recommendations to senior business leaders (EB and SEB) within technical space and occasionally to senior leaders in partner technical teams

    Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent from an accredited university or equivalent
  • Technical & commercial skills
  • Fluent in German and English language
  • Understanding of business and project financials
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to effectively manage a matrix team / organization
  • Extensive of experience in project management in complex project environment
  • Several years of experience in a management role.
  • Experience in project portfolio management
  • Strong negotiation skills and experiences
  • Willingness and ability to travel 30% of the time – mainly between our sites in Ahrensburg near Hamburg and Wunstorf near Hannover

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent from an accredited university or equivalent
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
