Role Summary: In this role, you will use a variety of mechanical skills on equipment to ensure unit functions according to specifications or to determine condition / serviceability of the unit.
Essential Responsibilities: In the role of Assembly Technician you will:
Assemble equipment according to procedures & drawing specifications by reading drawings and following instructions
Read calipers, gauges, micrometers & other measuring tools
Assemble components using the proper equipment and techniques, in accordance with the work instruction & procedures
Assemble various configurations of components to corresponding assembly prints utilizing available tooling, gauging and equipment
Verify that assembled components meet GE Oil & Gas Pressure Control quality guidelines
Keep equipment in well working condition – perform scheduled maintenance
Keep all working areas safe and free of debris and oil
Comply with all EHS requirements
High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution (Minimum 5 years of experience in a shop or assembly role in lieu of a HS diploma / GED)
Minimum 6 months of experience in a shop assembly role
Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
Be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required
Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time
