Role Summary:
The GE Manufacturing Solutions Locomotive Plant Manager will lead the site management team in the execution of business goals using lean manufacturing methods, ensuring sufficient capacity exists to deliver customer commitments, driving revenue, product quality, cost reduction, margin expansion and on time delivery through the effective utilization of resources. In this role, you will drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Essential Responsibilities:
The GE Manufacturing Solutions (GEMS) Locomotive Plant Manager will drive cultural and business transformation by engaging team members and support staff in continuing to develop Fort Worth as the premier supplier of Evolution Locomotives for GE Transportation. The Plant Leader will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. This highly visible, active leadership position is responsible for promoting and exhibiting open, collaborative communication and engagement among the GEMS workforce, as well as being extremely active in customer and local community relationships.

In addition, you will:

  • Foster and promote highly engaged, collaborative Teaming culture with all employees in the GEMS Loco facility
  • Develop strong customer engagement skills on a regular basis with Class 1 railroad industry customers including BNSF, Union Pacific, CSX, CN, NS
  • Ensure assigned employees are aware / comply with all GE government, customer and applicable policies, procedures, rules and regulations
  • Perform necessary administrative activities associated with effective management of shop operations, including necessary interface activities with other functions and organizations required to accomplish all objectives
  • Provide ongoing leadership, coaching, and support for employees, guiding them in current positions and assisting with career development and training
  • Be a visible and active leader of the site, promoting a teaming working environment to achieve excellence in EHS, quality, customer service, engineering and productivity
  • Lead the GEMS Loco Plant management team in the execution of business goals using lean manufacturing methods, ensuring sufficient capacity exists to deliver customer commitments, driving revenue, product quality, cost reduction, margin expansion and on time delivery through the effective utilization of resources.

    Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing leadership experience

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Prior experience in manufacturing policies and regulations established by GE as well as government and commercial customers
  • Prior experience in a non-union, high performance teaming facility
  • Strong track record of Coaching & team engagement skills
  • Strong understanding of operations and business financials
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
