Role Summary: The Sales Representative is responsible for defined work or projects with moderate complexity. Follows an individual work plan and meets day-to-day short-term objectives. Has the ability to resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. The individual hired into this role will be expected to develop into an Account Manager/Technical Sales & Service Professional.
Essential Responsibilities: The Sales Representative is responsible for defined work or projects with moderate complexity. Follows an individual work plan and meets day-to-day short-term objectives. Has the ability to resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. -Responsible for the customer in all aspects of account growth including strategy development, integrated account planning, opportunity identification, and value communication - Responsible for the effective and profitable sales in an assigned territory - Responsible for growth of new accounts as well as focus on maintaining existing accounts - Work with current customers and prospects to meet desired sales and service needs - Interface with the marketing organization to drive high value solutions leveraging the GE portfolio - Serve as an intermediary for solutions detailed understanding of customer's business model and how GE's products and services develop and deliver added value to the customer - Build customer relationships and communication at all levels - Matrix with existing functional and P&L teams to achieve growth objectives - Actively participate in community events with the customer - Utilize six sigma tools and methodologies to drive improvements in key processes for the customer
Qualifications/Requirements: - Experience in direct sales, account, or team leadership or industry operations is an asset - B.Sc. Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical), Biology, or Chemistry, OR Bachelors Degree in any discipline plus 2 years experience in the water treatment field. - Ability and willingness to work in range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities. - Demonstrated sales/people skills and/or aptitude. - The candidate must possess solid communication skills (both written and verbal). - Strong oral and written communication skills - Candidate should have a proven sales record or show that he/she has the aptitude to succeed in a technical and relationship driven business.
Valid Drivers License is required You will be home based and travel to customer site as required. You will be part of the local Medicine Hat team. A company vehicle is provided. - Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. - The candidate must be willing to work independently (after proper training) and be a self-starter. - Customer-centric mindset, able to translate customer issues/needs into profitable business solutions
GE announced they signed a definitive agreement to sell the Water & Process Technologies business to SUEZ, a services and solutions company with global operations primarily in water and waste management. The deal will be subject to customary closing conditions such as regulatory review and appropriate consultation and we expect this to be complete by mid-2017. Water & Process Technologies will operate business as usual through this process and will continue to meet its commitments to its valued customers and employees. This includes hiring strong talent to help the business grow and be successful.
