Role Summary:
GE Healthcare Digital is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our Health Cloud platform team delivering core services and technologies that empower software teams across GE Healthcare to rapidly create and deliver high-impact software solutions.

Essential Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for programing a feature and or a small feature set. You will contribute to the team and work with direction from the Senior Team Members or management.

In this role you will:
  • Act as a member of GE Digital’s Health Cloud team, representing the face of high quality design and development practices
  • Develop high performing, scaling and innovative end-to-end web services and solutions
  • Collaborate with system engineers, frontend developers and software developers to implement solutions that are aligned with and extend our portfolio of platform services and solutions
  • Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques
  • Write code that complies with company and regulatory standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project
  • Create standardized APIs and infrastructure to help facilitate the successful adoption of your services by other internal and external parties
  • Learn and help others adopt new technologies


Qualifications/Requirements:
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience
Eligibility Requirements
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for
    employment visas, now or in the future, for this job.

  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Seattle, WA.


Desired Characteristics:
Technical Expertise
  • Experience with public cloud infrastructures such and Amazon or Azure
  • Experience developing web applications (Spring, Java, Junit, Python, NodeJS, C#, GO)
  • Experience with front-end technologies such as Javascript, HTML5, CSS, AngularJS
  • Experience with SQL and No SQL database such as MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, HBase, Cassandra

Business Acumen
  • Have a solid understanding of the underlying infrastructure needed to run a large distributed web application
  • Has the ability to break down problems and estimate time for development tasks
  • Has the ability to make basic technology choices based on experience
  • Demonstrates awareness about competitors and industry

  • Has the ability to take ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary
  • Voices opinions and presents clear rationale. Uses data or factual evidence to influence.
