Role Summary: Unison Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of GE Aviation, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of electrical components, sensors, and systems for aircraft, industrial, marine, military, and space. Unison's products span the globe and can be found on almost anything flying - from two place trainer airplanes to giant 747's and rockets traveling to space.
We presently have openings for 3rd Shift CNC Machine Operators, in our Machine Shop Dept. working from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
In addition you will :
Perform all level 1 & 2 functions in addition to level 3
Cross-train other employees as needed based upon knowledge and experience
Assist in leading Team initiatives
Perform set up & operation of CNC machines
May set up and operate lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, and hand tools to fabricate parts and tools
Checks for proper tooling, sharpness & alignment
Operate multiple machines simultaneously
Compliantly troubleshoots tools, fixtures, and equipment as necessary
Perform duties on more complex proto-types or first time builds
More frequent interaction with internal and / or external customers and support functions (i.e. – Planners, Engineering) outside of home department
Education Required :
High School Diploma or GED
Special education and / or training to support level 1-2 knowledge
Prior Vocational and / or Trade training or equivalent experience
Must be proficient in performing level 1 & 2 responsibilities and illustrate capabilities to successfully perform level 3 responsibilities
Knowledge in machine shop operations
Skill Levels Required:
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :
Level 1 & 2 skills required
Perform intermediate mathematical calculations involving decimals, ratios, etc.
Possess intermediate understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment
