Role Summary: The Gilboa Hydro Plant in the North of Israel is looking for an experienced Q-EHS Lead. As the Lead Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) you will provide EHS support and guidance, to the Operations and Maintenance team, as well as the customer, aligned with GE guidelines, country regulations and contractual obligations, ensuring the plant is operating in a safe way.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Q-EHS Leader you will: • Manage all aspects of site EHS and quality assurance activities to ensure full compliance with local regulations and GE processes • Implement and execute GE EHS programs / processes and provide training to the team and customer • Maintain site-specific EHS and quality programs, plans and records • Provide guidance and interpretation of EHS regulations and requirements affecting site to management team and EHS management abroad • Partner with operations team to manage site EHS compliance activities (inspections, training, monitoring, sampling, etc.) • Drive EHS and quality compliance through audits, process / equipment review and site inspections • Lead site risk elimination/risk reduction activities • Manage site EHS and quality training program, conduct classroom training as needed • Complete all site regulatory reports (air, water, hazardous materials, waste) and work closely with site customer to ensure timely submittal of reports. • Lead site injury and illness prevention program as well as incident / accident investigations and develop corrective & preventive action plans • Manage site EHS consultants • Work cooperatively with GE EHS resources on business projects and initiatives
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; Minimum 5 years of EHS experience in an industry or manufacturing environment, in an International company; Experience working in the Israel Regulatory environment, including comprehensive knowledge of relevant local regulations; Experience managing hazardous waste and other environmental programs; Able to successful work in a multicultural environment; Advanced computer skills, primarily with MS Office programs, i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word; Excellent English, both verbal and written.
