Role Summary: This role will be responsible for the forecasting and technical valuation analysis of existing inventory and planned future acquisitions; as well as the oversight of technical aircraft model activities. Additionally, the role will be responsible for sourcing, marketing and sales strategy for a select product line of high dollar airframe components, to include conducting forecast-to-actual performance analysis.
Essential Responsibilities: Manage the establishment of residual values for all AMS acquired aircraft and inventory, including GECAS lease-end aircraft, consignments and other purchases. Review deal documentation and approve all acquisition pricing; Manage the workflow and requests for market values on current aircraft, lease extensions and lease ends for all GECAS entities; Lead and collaborate with the AMS Acquisitions, Sales Management, and Senior Leadership Team to review inventory and recommend actions to maximize value; Lead the quarterly inventory analysis in support of the AMS impairment process; Lead the production of inspection checklists and coordinate with Deal team members during the inspection process to ensure all inventory and record requirements are met in support of acquisitions; Maintain ownership of AMS’ airframe value matrix. Ensure the matrix is updated annually; Oversee AMS’ technical aircraft/engine models to ensure: consistency between the forecast and actual dismantlement, improved stock and dismantlement configuration, and optimal support to the commercial and repair organizations to meet business goals; Understand and leverage market intelligence for identified product lines; to include both competitor’s and AMS’ inventory positions as well as the market demand; Understand identified product lines to understand all key technical details including but not limited to AD’s, interchangeability, and mod status; Lead collaboration with key team members to develop and recommend strategies for identified product lines. Ensure strategy identifies speculative buying opportunities, details the strategy for existing inventory including pricing strategy to ensure business goals are exceeded. Ensure the strategy balances the cost of investment in aircraft acquisition and barriers to market including repair and restoration investments. Develop marketing push strategies as required; Perform other duties and projects as needed; Maintain adherence to The Spirit and the Letter.
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 5 years of aviation industry experience or 10+ years of progressive work experience in commercial aviation • Experience leading teams and multiple projects with competing priorities • Strong analytical ability including raw data, financial data and pricing information • Excellent PC skills required including Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint • Ability to travel up to 25% occasionally with short notice
Desired Characteristics: • Minimum 5 years Commercial Sales Experience in aircraft parts trading industry, preferably in a commercial or customer-facing role • Strong performance track record of prior managerial and/ or cross functional project leadership experience • Strong oral and written communications including ability to create and deliver presentations to Senior Management • Ability to use data, technical knowledge and industry knowledge to manage ambiguity and change while maintaining a strong sense of urgency and commitment to execution • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to collaborate with peers manage challenging conversations with tact and clarity • Ability to interface effectively with all levels within the company • Strong negotiation and facilitation skills to build consensus and create win-win results
